Interior design hobbyist Lindsey LaPrime takes her love for design seriously. We can’t say we’re surprised that she took home first place (for the second time!) in our most recent design challenge with Mitzi, celebrating the exclusive Zio and Sons collection.
Lindsey prides herself in creating spaces for her clients that feel uniquely like them. Although this challenge wasn’t necessarily for a client, she understood the assignment for creating something that felt so in tune with the Zio and Sons aesthetic. We’re excited to re-introduce you to Lindsey and share more about her winning design.

Very exciting! And I feel honored to be able to showcase my designs and creativity to everyone on Spoak’s platform.
I envisioned it as an old Spanish villa; its kitchen and dining space were in one space, giving it a warm family environment. This is the type of kitchen where you could see yourself making rustic bread and eating Paella. I really try to picture myself in each space and pay close attention to detail! I sometimes even like to find pictures of these far-away getaways and place them outside the windows in my designs. Just dreaming I'm actually there!
Lighting is the star of the show! It gives structure to a space and ambiance with its lumination. When choosing lighting for a room, everything is about finding balance. It also needs to be cohesively styled, and each piece should be selected with the other lighting pieces in mind—this can be anything from pendant lights to sconces and floor lamps, etc.
I really love Anthony D'Argenzio's designs and vision and felt like the collaboration with Mitzi captured a vintage feel with hints of neoclassical design and whimsy.
I have a large open floor plan kitchen, dining room, and living room. Previously, when I talked about cohesion, I was having issues finding harmony with all the lighting in this gigantic room! I plan on getting a new chandelier to go over our kitchen table, matching the sconces I already have in the living room.
I'm looking forward to spending time with my little family. We love camping and have two upcoming vacations to North Carolina and Hawaii.
