Interior Designer Spotlight: Liv Enriquez

Would you believe us if we told you there was a company out there that sold well-designed, stylish A/C units? Spoiler: They really do exist! Our latest design challenge with July proved that A/C units can actually be both functional and good-looking.

The design challenge prompt was to style a cool vignette around a window with the July A/C unit. Naturally, our members were very excited at the prospect of winning one of these units! The winning design was created by interior designer and Spoak member Liv Enriquez. We can practically feel the cool breeze just looking at her Vizi.

We chatted with Liv to hear more about her personal design journey and inspiration for her design. We’re excited for you to meet her!

Tell us about yourself and your current design journey.

Hi! My name is Liv. I'm a designer based out of LA currently taking on local and virtual clients! I discovered Spoak in the pandemic and have really loved being a part of the design community on slack and participating in design challenges. This is my first win and it's fuel to continue on designing and putting myself out there!

What was your vision for this design?

I recently purchased a Panton replica chair for my living room, so I knew I wanted to include one here. I ended up doing two in the pink and yellow and included other mismatched chairs for an eclectic vibe. My style is very vintage-meets-modern, so I went all out with this design and included many vintage pieces that can be purchased on Chairish and 1stDibs. The dining table is an Eero Saarinen Marble Tulip Table, the sideboard is an American of Martinsville MCM campaign style dresser, the mushroom lamp is a genuine Laurel Lamp Co from the 60s, and the oil painting is 'Reclining Nude in Interior' by Victor Di Gesu (1955). The painting then inspired the pops of color in the design. The melting disco ball was a fun last minute addition that sparks joy (I have a disco ball in my living room!) and really solidifies the design as "Fever Dream '' decor.

How did Spoak’s tools help your vision come to life?

Being able to quickly copy the image address of a product and upload the image to Spoak’s Viz tool is always so helpful in figuring out what works in the design and what doesn't. Also being able to manipulate the image at an angle allowed me to build out the left corner of the design.

What are you going to do with your stylish new A/C unit from July?

The July A/C unit will be going in my living room to give the space much needed air during the summer!
