Wedding Planning with Spoak

I uploaded all my inspiration photos into a moodboard. Seeing everything side by side helped me realize what worked and what clashed. Sooner than I realized, I was actually looking at a wedding vibe that was very me. This is what we call: Mood Board Magic.

As someone who had never really thought about their wedding day, I knew I would need help getting ideas and setting a vision for the big day. Enter: Spoak. Starting strong with mood boards that turned into color palettes and eventually mock-ups of each event- my wedding came together right before my eyes. Here's how.

Set The Vibe: Gather Inspo & Start Mood Boarding

As someone who had never really thought about their wedding day, I knew I would need help getting ideas and setting a vision for the big day. Enter: Spoak. I jumped right in with my planning and gathering inspiration to try and figure it all out. I spent hours looking through photographers' portfolios to steal a glimpse at others' weddings. From the Italian coast to an upstate flower field, I was able to start seeing themes that spoke to me. I sourced a lot of inspiration on Pinterest and used Spoak’s handy Pinterest integration to import all my saved images into my Spoak account. Then, I uploaded all my inspiration photos into a moodboard. Seeing everything side by side helped me realize what worked and what clashed. Sooner than I realized, I was actually looking at a wedding vibe that was very me. This is what we call: Mood Board Magic.

While gathering photos, I also made separate mood boards for specific design concepts like florals, which I’ll reference later when designing my table scape.

Two in One: Photography

By compiling “vibe” wedding photos, I’ve actually checked two things off of my list: my wedding mood board, and my photography style. I can use these moodboards to narrow down what kind of photographer I want to work with. This is the easiest and most straightforward way to communicate with my photographer what I’d like to achieve visually on the big day. They’ll know exactly what I mean with a quick glimpse at the mood boards.

Taste the Rainbow: Color Palette

Now that I had a more concrete idea of my wedding, I used my moodboard images to create a cohesive color palette. Generating a color palette for your wedding will help you keep everything consistent. Think: invitations, table scape colors, bridesmaid dresses, flowers, etc. Spoak’s Color Pal tool lets you easily upload a single image or a mood board collage of images to auto generate a color palette, and you can make tweaks from there to achieve your perfect hues or add a shade or two to the mix. The Girls Will Girl: Outfit Planning

Now that I had my color palette set, I could start outfit planning. I used Spoak to create a style board to match outfits to my color scheme to see what colors I would want my bridesmaids to be wearing. I linked the dresses as products and even added actual fabric swatch options in case they wanted to stick to the color palette but find their own dress in the same color.

Just hearing the words “Black Tie Optional” can be super intimidating when talking about dress code, and I don’t want my guests guessing what they should be wearing. To put everyone invited at ease (and provide some fashion inspiration!), I pulled together a moodboard of outfit references that explain what I mean by Black Tie Optional. Definitely recommend doing this for your guests!

The most exciting part is picking out your own bridal dress of course! I referenced my initial mood board throughout this entire process, but especially while picking out the perfect white dress. Adding the groom’s outfit to this mood board also helped me to visualize the bigger picture of the looks together.

The Big Day: Mocking Ups + Floor Plans

I am partial to a casual rehearsal dinner at a gorgeous (and delicious) restaurant, so I mocked up my dream restaurant for my wedding party to share a meal and discuss details of the next day. I used one of Spoak’s “Event Space” vizi backgrounds, and added in my own furniture and decor.

Cocktail hour would be simple but elevated with an area for a few live musicians.

I loved the idea of having a few long tables dressed to simple perfection in an outdoor setting, so that’s exactly what I mocked up in Viz for the reception. The statement pieces would be vintage steel chairs, a handful of floral arrangements, a wooden bar, and some string lights. Spoak has some great outdoor space viz backgrounds to build on top of (like this one!).

I even went into detail on my tablescaping. I included pops of color from my Color Pal, and floral arrangements from my moodboard. I was able to execute this vision perfectly in the mock up with the actual products I would use on the big day.

Using Spoak’s floor planning tool helped me realize how big of an outdoor space I would actually need for the ceremony and the reception. All of these floor planning assets are readily available in Spoak’s asset library, where there is an entire section dedicated to what you’ll need for a wedding.

Whether you are DIY planning your wedding yourself or working with a seasoned wedding planner, Spoak’s design visualization tools have your back. From crafting moodboards to perfecting color palettes and floor plans, Spoak simplifies the process, allowing you to bring your unique vision to life. With every detail thoughtfully planned and beautifully visualized, you can confidently create a wedding day that feels authentically you.
