Sharon's love for design led her to where she is today. As a sales rep at Bloomingdale’s, she spends her days looking at furniture that she loves, helping clients get their hands on comfortable pieces that speak to them. Comfort just so happens to be the main priority for Homebody, one of our beloved furniture brand partners that we recently collaborated with on a design challenge.
It’s in that very design challenge that Sharon took home the first-place prize: a Homebody Recliner. She created a clean and modern great room that really spoke to the brand and our audience. Let’s hear the vision from Sharon herself!
My name is Sharon, and I am a furniture and mattress salesperson at Bloomingdale’s in New York City. My love of interior design led me to discover Spoak — I think it’s a great way to explore the thousands of furniture items found in-store and online. Spoak allows you to experiment with different looks and makes it easy to edit your options until you discover the ideal pieces to achieve the look you desire in your space.

I wanted to design a room that was clean and comfy yet full of personality. I kept color to a minimum but filled it with a variety of interesting materials: brick walls, wood, leather, and metal. Personally, I think it’s the dog that was the winning touch. 😊
I am a fan of all forms of design — interiors, architecture, photography, and set design. I appreciate anything that is appealing to the eye and requires imagination to create. I wish more people would inject elements of their personality into their homes. There is often a rush to furnish a space quickly, but I think it’s better to take the time to find items you truly love.
My 1940s French wingback chair. I love its lines. They don’t make furniture like they used to!
I’m into photography and digital collage. Creating mood boards to me is a form of collage. I’m also an obsessive reader and word puzzle addict. #teamwordle
Fall weather. I love it when the trees change color — it’s mesmerizing. You’ll often find me taking photos of decaying leaves. Weird, I know.
