Flex your creative muscle, practice your design skills, and join a little friendly competition by participating in one of our well-loved design challenges. We partner with some of our favorite home brands every month to give you a creative design prompt using their products. The designers with the most votes win prizes, which can include gift cards (with a retail value of $1,000+), trade discounts, and/or free products. Plus, a designer spotlight interview on our blog, social mentions, and more.

Made Trade

The prompt was to design a Spring/Summer inspired living room including at least 5 ethical and sustainable items from Made Trade. The winner, Grace Molloy, received a $1,000 gift card to Made Trade.

Abigail Bell

The prompt was to design an elevated living room parlor with a gallery wall of framed prints from Abigail Bell. The first place winner, Shellie Kemp, receives $1,000 worth of framed canvas prints from Abigail Bell. All participants receive a gallery wall grouping of digital downloads from Abigail Bell and a discount code for 20% off.

sproos!

The prompt was to design a bathroom incorporating a Sproos! shower fixture of your choice. Make it as bold, colorful, sleek, or minimal as you wish; just make sure it is a showstopper! The first place winner, Christiane Mallon, won a Lookin' Good shower bundle. The 2nd place winner, Lisa Chaves, won the Minimalist shower bundle. The 3rd place winner, Daniela Ulloa Villarreal, won a Hand Shower. All participants get a 25% off code.

Salon 21

The prompt was to design a lavish, avant-garde living room channeling the Baroque style. All designs must have incorporated Salon 21's Marie Antoinette-inspired wallpaper on at least one wall. The winner, Alexa Dayan, won a free ticket to any upcoming Salon 21 event, a merch-filled Salon 21 tote bag, and an art print. All participants receive 15% off the Salon 21 x Paradigm Peel and Stick Wallpaper by Evita Flores.

Sundays Furniture

The prompt was to design a cozy living room including pieces from Sundays Furniture inspired by the phrase "easy like Sunday morning". The winner, Michelle Hosogai, received a $1,000 gift card to Sundays Furniture.

Salam Hello

The challenge was to design a bedroom inspired by fresh spring colors using at least one of Salam Hello's custom Moroccan rugs. The winner, Alexa Dayan, won a 5' x 7' Moroccan rug of their choice from Salam Hello. All participants received a 10% off coupon to Salam Hello.

Weezie

The prompt was to design a bathroom mockup or moodboard in the "coastal grandma" design style using colors from Weezie's Spring Collection, Bath in Bloom, the brand's brightest, boldest, and biggest yet. Incorporate a patterned wallpaper and at least one Weezie product in your design.

The winners, Chela Shiroma, Chloe Crist, and Lindsey LaPrime, won Weezie's Bathing Bundle 6 piece towel set.

Pantone Color of the Year: Peach Fuzz

The prompt was to lean into the Pantone Color of the Year and design a monochrome "Peach Fuzz" room for your favorite celebrity. Extra creativity points for incorporating them in the actual design! The winner, Emily Ruby, received a $750 AmEx gift card and Pantone's Century in Color coffee table book.

Small Business Saturday

Spoak is proud to be a Hudson Valley-based company. In honor of Small Business Saturday, we're spotlighting some of our favorite Hudson Valley-based small businesses and hosting a fun design challenge with them.

The Prompt was to design a room for an extravagant gathering with friends. Include at least 1 vignette with products from your favorite small businesses. Bonus points for including products from our sponsors, MINNA, Hither Lane, the Quiet Botanist, and 2Note Hudson. The winner, Julie Lupariello, won a curated selection of goods from our sponsors above.

Zander Schlacter

The challenge was to design a maximalist living room or bedroom using textiles and products from Zander Schlacter's collection. Pattern mixing highly encouraged! The winner, Sidnee Lesbock, received a $500 gift card in Zander Schlacter products. All participants received 20% off of Zander Schlacter products.

San Junipero Textile Studio

The prompt was to design a room in your favorite design style using one of San Junipero Textile Studio's handmade Moroccan rugs. Bonus points if you incorporate sustainable materials in your design. The first place winner, Camille Ashburn, won a handmade Moroccan rug. All participants received a code for 15%.


Urban Outfitters

The challenge was to choose one of Urban Outfitter’s new collections and design a room in the theme: Retro Roomies, Deco Dreams, or Modern Naturals. The 1st place winner, Daniela Ulloa, was gifted $1k to spend with UO Home. All participants received 20% off.
